The third hero or, more precisely, heroine of the Driver CE interview series will be Kasia. Kasia is 23 years old and comes from Zielona Góra.

Ania: Kasia you have been with us for 2 years, how did it happen that such a young woman wanted to become an international driver?

Kasia: I am an only child, the apple of my daddy's eye, and it was because of him that my adventure began. He spent 30 years driving all over Europe and gave me the bug. Those were the days when there were no restrictions, when you didn't have ADRs and when, as a 10-year-old, I could have spent a whole holiday with my dad, driving the length and breadth of Europe. When I told my dad I was going to follow in his footsteps, he just laughed. So, in secret from him, I took all the money from my 18th birthday and did the course. How surprised he was when I showed him the finished papers.

Anne: And what does dad say about that?

Kasia: He stated that if I'm so smart to do praco driving then I can handle the job too and he has no intention of putting his hand to it. And I was left without a teacher.... I passed my baccalaureate, I didn't want to go to full-time university. I preferred to earn and study.

Anna: Did you find a job quickly?

Kasia: For six months I must have called all the transport companies in Poland... From the small ones to the big ones... All the same no experience, young woman. Nobody wanted to take me on. My dad just kept going around saying "I told you so...".

Anne: And what did you do?

Kasia: I gave an ad on FB, a bit like a matrimonial "Young, ambitious, no experience looking for a job as an international driver C+E". You can probably guess what the comments were... On a private message I got a call back from the recruiter of Driver C+E and we started talking. Ms Magda convinced me with her sincerity. She declared that my lack of experience was only a temporary obstacle. She suggested a way out of the situation.

Anne: What was the solution?

Kasia: I was supposed to drive double-duty for six months with one of the drivers from Driver C+E. Then she was supposed to find me a solo job.

Anne: That's what happened?

Kasia: Yes, of course, it was just as Magda suggested. For six months I travelled around Poland with Asia. A girl with 5 years of experience. Asia taught me everything a good driver should know, plus the support of the Driver CE coordinators, the training, the possibility to get ADR certificates made me very confident in my skills.

Anne: And what does it look like today?

Kasia: After working double-duty, the coordinators arranged for me to work on PL-DE-PL wheels after talking to me, I was able to gain experience and learn additionally. After six months of driving like that, I decided to do the whole of Europe. Now I drive from Poland to Spain, every other weekend at home, because I still have part-time studies. Nothing is scary for me because I know that Driver CE and their support is behind me. And the best thing is that I earn more than my dad. It's a secret, I don't want him to feel sorry ☺

Ania: What can you advise for women who want to work like you?

Kasia: I'll say this, dear women, don't get involved and call Driver CE straight away. Here, the fact that you are a woman and without experience is not an obstacle. Driver CE gives you the opportunity to develop, and it is honest in its approach to every situation. With Driver CE, you will not only have a reliable employer in a difficult transport market, but you will also have the support of a number of specialists who will find a solution for situations that do not work out.
